Kenwood House
Kenwood House is located on Hampstead Heath and is an impressive neo-classical house with attractive landscaped gardens. Works by Rembrandt, Vermeer, Turner, Reynolds and Gainsborough all cling against a background of princely rooms. Locals and visitors delight the open air concerts that are held by the lake in the summer.
Fenton House
Fenton House is among London’s most captivating National Trust 17th century country estate, constructed in about 1693 in the heart of Hampstead Village. Fenton House has a pleasing fenced garden with a 300 year old apple orchard. The mansion houses an impressive collection of European, Oriental and English porcelain, early keyboard instruments and uncommon examples of needlecraft pictures
Hampstead Heath
The heath covers about 800 acres of uncultivated grass and woodland in London. It is saved and kept clean by Heath Rangers. The ponds are one the glorifications of Hampstead Heath. They were made for a number of causes, but the more boastful ones were in the first place dug as sources for London’s water supply in the 17th and 18th centuries. There are over 30 ponds on the heath but five main ones, three employed for swimming
Parks and Open Spaces
Within easy reach of Hampstead Primrose Hill, Regents Park, London Zoo and Hampstead Heath. Regents Park has a marvelous landscape fashioned by whoremaster Nash and consists of the biggest outdoor sports area in London.
It bears a boating lake and an open-air theatre which is adorable amusement for a summers evening. A different part of Regents Park is Primrose Hill, with a wide area of park perfective for viewing the worlds go by; you might even come across a famous personality!
London Zoo is a splendid day out for folks of any age, bearing one of the world’s most benevolent collections of animals. Hampstead Heath is one of London’s great open spaces, comprising of about 800 acres of assorted grassland and woodland. It is instead more parkland than heath, but does have plenty of semi-wild fields, sections of large tree cover and a number of small lakes earmarked for boating and swimming. |
