Islington Property Guide
Sounds familiar? True. Islington is a name anyone will find in the British version of the board game Monopoly. Why it is priced as the third cheapest spot in the board game is another discussion. People who are looking for flats Islington and apartments in this area should definitely know what to expect from the place.
Tagged as a central district for the borough of the same name—the London Borough of Islington—it is an old borough whose history can be traced back to the early 1000s. It is said that it was known hundreds of years ago as the Giseldone. Later on it was changed to Gislandune. Both names mean “Gisla’s Hill”. According to history, the name later on changed to Isledon and eventually to Islington.
The great and famous Royal Agricultural Hall was also founded and built here. It can be seen as a big building sandwiched between two towers. This was built in 1862 and it is situated on Liverpool Road. Being the largest building of its kind, it is now part of the Business Design Centre. What used to be its front entrance is now the back door of the Business Design Centre.
Housing has never been a problem in property Islington. Although it was badly damaged during World War I, it has soon recovered to its feet and it has eventually become a very dense and crowded spot to live in. Estate agents Islington assure people who wish to live in a city with less space will find Islington a suitable habitat. This place is ideal for people who simply want to get lost in the crowd
