Soho Property Guide

People make the mistake that Soho is only found in New York. Let this then shed light that there is also a placed called Soho in London, particularly at the West End. Soho has at least one square mile in size or land area. It used to be a farmland where cattle grazed in as early as 1536. According to many, the name came from the word or expression used during hunting. Soho was also a word used by the Duke of Monmouth to rally his soldiers during battle.

Property Soho has then become a land occupied by rich and influential people. A lot of immigrants chose Soho and witnessed how it degenerated in time. The rich and influential people of London made the error of neglecting its development.

In the 19th century, many of the rich and influential families mentioned earlier moved away from Soho. They were then replaced by prostitutes. In the early 1900s, Soho became a nest for intellectuals. The place was then frequented by writers and artists who were drunks.

Until the end of the 20th century, Soho had the reputation of a dark and brooding place. There are a lot of sex shops where one can buy sex gadgets. According to estate agents Soho the night life is one of the highlights of the city and the film industry is its main attraction. Nowadays, decency is observed and only the smoldering ashes of prostitution are seen. It is now populated by middle class individuals and flats Soho are considered as a very fashionable place to live in and work at.
